The catalyst of Kellys of Dublin began in 1932 when Christopher O’Kelly worked in America for Amelia Earhart (the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean). Christopher progressed to working in Detroit, in 1933, for Ford in providing upholstery services of the highest of standards. After many years of excelling in his craft he moved back to Ireland in 1935 where he worked on upholstery for cars for O’Neills in Phibsboro.
