We are fortunate that they already manufacture a grille set for our car & this is how it looks fitted:

Not only does it improve the appearance of our car (in our opinion) but will protect the air con. condensing unit from being damaged again so hopefully not another £450 bill!
This is the black version (nylon polymer coated) but also available in silver & both stainless steel.

If only I was closer I would jump at it.
P.s. have never heard of the condenser or it’s problems before your original post. Shows how clueless I am about engines.(n)

Nor had we & thought it was a one off with our Citroen car then when it happened again with our Ford & looking at the grilles on vehicles now realise how many are vulnerable to damage :( Top of the range cars & A Class motorhomes normally have this type of mesh fitted as standard.

I am just down the road (y)

For anyone that might want to buy any of their current range https://www.zunsport.com/en/ or perhaps for their motorhome once available (if not chosen for the Development Programme) Zunsport have kindly agreed 15% discount for Funsters with code MH121518 (y)

Looks to me like it's going to restrict airflow as well as protect the condenser and radiator possibly causing overheating problems.

Truth is in the eating I suppose.

The size of the holes is no. 3 mesh which has been used for car grilles for many years - ours have been fitted for over a month on both the motorhome & car & despite some extreme temperatures weather wise there has been no overheating.

Bugger!
We were in Norton Canes just a couple of weeks ago.
Three hours drive to go back there.

Richard.

Sorry, I was referring the massive chunk of solid plastic in the middle.
Can't say I've ever noticed if that is part of the standard grill or not.

Aha..... Now I've zoomed in I can see the extra mesh components. (y)

Good to hear that some have responded to this (y) - bump for anyone else who may want to apply.

Know some are now booked in to help with this (y) - don't forget to post your before & after photos when it's done.
Just emailed to see if they need any more willing volunteers?!

UPDATE..
Been in today with my 2012 Ducato.
Met with Peter, his son and some of the staff. Nice friendly bunch (y)
Had to leave the van for a while but no issue for me as we live nearby.

A template has been made and will be back for a second visit in a couple of weeks to have the fitting done. Plus maybe an option on having some "in grille" lights fitted. No pics at present but will post once the fitting is complete.
I understand there are some other model cabs due in soon to expand the range.

Spent today in sunny cannock having my van measured for these grilles

Great to meet Peter and his team

Their approach & workmanship looks very professional and the products look really good quality

Available in black or polished stainless, I'm going for the stainless ('cos I like a bit of bling!) For my van there will be 3 grilles

The van spent about 5 hours at their premises, so a nice walk to Chasewater Country Park and Chasewater Railway

Will be back next month for fitting and will post before & after pictures then

Hi, I will be back in November for fitting, I'll take you up on your kind offer then, if that's OK

Hi Tonka, enjoy Benidorm, I have to get to Cheshire with a classic race bike engine immediately after the fitting, so a double miss!!

Next time..

Not sure if these do it justice but here they are anyway. Peter at Zunsports did say he took some pics of the radiator and intercooler that shows the amount of damage already caused by road debris etc.. I will see if i can get them.

Been advised that the second Grille down, paint the silver vertical bars as black. (y)

They look very smart @tonka (y) & looking forward to seeing your photos @Nasher :)
We were shocked how much debris clearly gets through & does damage so for us the grilles are now a priority accessory to fit once they are available for our Citroen Jumper (LHD Relay). Have noticed that many top of the range cars & some A Class motorhomes do have similar manufacturer fitted grilles as standard.

I needed a new radiator a few montgs back - stone damage - 300 notes

Got back from Zunsport yesterday, after having my grilles fitted

Peter and his team made me very welcome and I am really pleased with the end result - I think the van looks great

I'll take some better 'after' photos at the weekend

Pictures show before, the existing stone damage to radiator (spent £300 on a new rad earlier this year) and with new grilles

I went for the polished stainless look, rather than black, as I think it suits my van better. Protection & good looks!

Big problem on SMART cars too the Aircon Rad gets punctured by stones and costs approx £480 to replace.

First my excuse --- I had a v bad pain day yesterday and had to take a lot of painkillers........but does this really excuse that I thought they were developing grills as in grilling chops, bacon etc............. :(
