We got here last night about 1600 and took up one of the last places. Today we got back from our cycle at 1600 hrs and it was full. An overflow in the huge truck park next door has been created.
It was half empty this morning at 1000 hrs and staying is limited to 3 days.
Next to the Aire is AlCampo which we think is part of Auchan so good for shopping.
Last night we were woken by one truck starting off at stupid o o'clock but we are in the back fence.
We know it is going to hammer it down at about 1900 hrs all night and the wind has just got up at 1700 hrs so looking like a really wet night. Getting back early was in the plans.
We decided to go cross country to get onto the via Verde that will eventually run from Santander to Valencia.
We knew the first part would be uphill but we have electric and the route was separated from the road. The rockery formations that you see on the way in from the north are photo worthy.
Then we had alpe d'huez circuit
Then, following the map we had some adjoining roads. WRONG. The roads are tracks of very loose stone. And they happen to be up and down. Pushing up and bum squealing down. We would not recommend going the we did !

But then you are on the via Verde and it's a good un (for a bit) it's just like cycling through a western, no tunnels just cuttings embankments and viaducts. Superb scenery and hopefully the photos do it justice. We headed north towards Caude out of Teruel. After 3-4 KMs we found the station.
It was here we were inundated with what we think were eagles. We are quite used to kites but the markings underneath matched some we saw couple of days ago and these were golden eagle lookalikes.
I ve never seen one and I am not a twitcher but I did take a video of a lesser spotted low flying eagle. Let me know how wrong I am ! There were about 10 to 15 of them.
This lot were a mixture of kites and whatever it is we spotted earlier and there were 30-49 of them circling a farm
The track roughened up a bit after this but still easily cyclableband we got to Caude.
When it suddenly dawned on me that it was prophetic with my cauda equina! So photo taken and sent off to the head of the survivors group who loved it and requested a press release type thing to advertise CES
Currently searching for a town in Spain named something like equina
From Caude there is another cycle route that is covered in loose stone and runs adjacent to the railway. It is fair to say we didn't take any photos to entice any of you to try it. And it stopped about a KMs short so we waited for a gap in the traffic, stuck it in super sport mode and hammered it down the dual road (which was only a 30) through an underpass and we found Teruel.
We thought it was lovely loads of different architecture and could have walked round there all day with my poles (they fold up into my pannier)
Tourist information opens at 5 so that wasn't much help and I bet we missed some sights.
It is 2.7 km from the Aire. There are bike parking spaces. Our choice was next to the TO where there is some form of government building with people going in and out
