Having spent 4 days and nights without services a move away from our lovely spot 50.yards from the beach seemed necessary.
Our cunning plan was to come straight to Simat but a last minute review on S4S noted the toilet dump was closed by police earlier in the month.
We didn't want to take a risk of another night so made towards via carcaixent and found the dump at the railway station car park. We also noted road closures and a large Ninot. Not a great time for the tomtom to appear not to want charge but we have a Garmin only the driver can't see it and speed limits seem to vary constantly.
Got to the Aire with 2 other British vans already here and confirmed the service drop was still closed off by police but it worked so cover of darkness is the approach being used, luckily we don't have to. The Aire and free as you would expect of me
TO was open and info on the ride gained and set off following the well laid out signs. We turned round and then went in the right direction !
But uphill to start then gentle slope for 13 or 14 km down to Carcaixent. The surface is compact loose stone with 2 well worn tracks. There are several tracks that run across from the orange farms to decrease speed a bit on. Some of the transitions weren't exactly smooth. You are never far from an orange growers property and there are orange trees more or less all the way 19kms on both sides. Enough picnic stops, couple of stations and mountains both sides of the valley. Shade was available in places. One short steep bit but it had a rest point and only 100m. Quite a pleasant ride.
Into carcaixent and the main street was closed for Fallas with loud DJ at 1400 hrs but we found some beer
Coming home was a bit of a slog but greeted at the end by what I suspect was the turntable but had presumably an orange press
