Got here last night with a reported 9 out of 17 places vacant in this 14.86 euro CCP with electric water dumps and wifi.
The aire is next to a quiet overnight road til constant traffic from 0700.
It is on a hill with only a couple of flattish spots at the bottom and a ten minute walk down the soft gradient hill to the town which is based round the harbour with small supermarket. There is a 43 minute 6.36 euro train to Marseilles which runs frequently to 0930 then 2 hourly. Supposed to be nice train ride along the coast.
Electric is filling up battery at 18ah.
Many restaurants around the harbour and it looks like coastal cycling in both directions on granite and some sandy beaches where good footwear appears to be the order of the day and snorkelling seems an option.
Will be using the train to get to the underwater museum in Marseilles and bikes to go round coast to martigues which will be separate journal entries over next couple of days.
For some reason photos didn't load.
The daytime beach photos are if you descend to Sausset from the aire then follow the beaches to the right. About 3 km of this view and even more if on foot.
