For whatever reason we had never even heard of this place. Located it through camper contact and mediaeval town, 267 reviews, upgraded, hardstanding and free were the words that enticed us.
Quick google image search showed a fully walled town with dry moat outside.
All signs upon arrival were good and walking into town over the flowered road going over the moat with flags increases the anticipation. There must be 8 roads leading into the centre and none of them at all enticing to walk down.
So we headed for the rampart walk. More of a walk on the outside of the dry moat. Single track so hardly used you did come across the occasional tunnel and bars in one of them with no access
In summary, good aire if the travellers have moved on but there are other car parks available.
