This is our 4th Gorge walk and they are all excellent. This one, however, comes equal top with the unpronounceable T gorge.
We weren't going to do this today as the cable car was our intention but a schoolgirl error made us do plan B.
It's only about 6 KMs away from the other gorge
Signage is good. If attending in a motorhome it may be wise to take the parking right by main road or 100 yards further on there is a coach park before the bridge.
After that there is not very wide road up the car park which, if I were in a motorhome, I would try first as it saves 400 m walking. You can always turn round and park at the places you have passed.
We have had 3 days of shed loads of rain. We swapped out motorbike clothing for waterproof clothing as we heard you might get wet and we wanted dry clothing to ride back in. This was an excellent decision. We couldn't tell if it was raining or not !
You walk past the hotel, take right passing the gasthaus with lovely carvings and get to the nice rest area with cafe and souvenirs.
Pay your 9 euros or present your KC and walk off on the one way path along the raging river.
What we weren't expecting was the path leading to a gap in the mountain and the wooden structure path going into it and staying in it.
The mist coming off the tempestuous water was already making clothing wet The noise was incessant. We were pleased to get out of the canyon only because of the noise. I took a video and will do a link to it.
If you have a strap for your camera or phone use it. It is damp.
On top of misty water you get the water from above dripping on you at different points. The people in front of us had a brolly. We thought they were idiots til we got to where they raised their brolly. It was like walking through our own waterfall.
Numerous photos later you get to the top and the relief on your ears is pleasant. It's a steep gravel path down but so much easier than yesterday. Thoroughly recommended.
Video was rubbish. Pressed buttons at wrong time
