We said our goodbyes to manners with an appreciated gift of a male to male hosepipe attachment which we then used on the borne with a good pressure at Mauron before a lidls hop at Ploemel and parking in the aire watching the queue at the borne.
We set off on our cycle du hour on the same impeccable pathway of the same voie vert and noticed a couple of branch lines which may prove interesting
but made the 6.2kms to the canal. We turned right towards Brest but realistically Joselin.
Adorned with wide cycleway but a mix of tarmac and tracked gravel we kept seeing beautifully flowered locks. Only a couple of boats, motorhomes in car parks behind picnic spots and a really nice cycle. We noted some alternative routes for return.
We got to Joselin with its imposing chateau beside the canal and thought we would make Forges something another 8km up.
Unfortunately at this point a bolt broke on Paula's saddle causing some emergency cable ties attaching the saddle to the rear holder.
Plans scuttled we cycled back to Joselin to see what we could do which involved not locating a cycle shop but looking in e Leclerc for nuts and bolts then having a picnic outside an industrial estate bricolage til it opened at 1400 hrs. It worked.
We then foot toured Joselin firstly through the wood of love, a riverside park that was really nice
purchasing proper honey sweets and it was very nice and well worthy and noticing there was free bike electricity here as well as Ploemel.
One of the return diversions was through Guidal with a muck spreader converted to water dispenser outside a church !
The area is rich with Arthurian legend and a sword in a stone is outside the pharmacy.
Another short cut detour took us on a forest track disused steam railway line before making it back for ice cream
