A very warm day today so cable car required to rise up for lesser temperatures.
Not the nearest one to us but it was on a pleasant fast road..... so we thought.
We passed the Nockemsteaße and carried on to see a 23% incline.
No problem thinks as we have done 18% up the Vrsic pass. Surely our little pop pop 110 cc carrying 27stone between us would ok especially with a run up.
She was doing well, staying over 20mph when all of a sudden it looked really quite steep. Once she got to 8mph and zigzagging was not an option a sacrifice was the only option left and I have the driving licence.....dumped Paula and continued...she could have put her thumb out but she decided to walk up about 400m in full motorbike gear and helmet and gloves at midday in 30 degrees at the bottom of the hill.
I found a bit about 15% to try again with her after I had offered her encouragement to speed up a little through our headsets and after she replied and made it we got going again but able to zigzag the steeper parts as less vehicles.
Beautiful lake at about 1800m that we drove up to and then took the 22 euros cable car or free to KC holders to the top which was only 2000m but still 21.5c
Noted things were what appeared to be an Aire but camper contact suggested it was a campsite at 39 euros a night !
And a toboggan that looked like it might not hurt my back on the anniversary of 6 months post op when I should start to see improvement (significantly ahead of that situation) but the wallet said NO NO AND NO BLEEDING WAY when the price with or without KC was 34 euros for the pair of us.
We settled for a game of roll the ball down the obstacle course and a walk round the top. NB you cannot ride the seats on the way down only the gondolas. I would like to offer you a reason as to why.
With heat coming on a Billa lunch if gammon in a roll, mango juice and our staple 49 cent ambrosia custard with a squidge of cream was had at the picnic table outside the Billa. 7.48 euros.
