A 22 euros KC freebie about 10 miles west of Spittal on the way back from a gorge.
Signposting was actually good from Austrian standards.
There are 2 trains and as one goes up the other comes down passing in the middle.
Trains WILL go on the hour and if 6 people are waiting they go on the half hour.
You ride 600 metres and it takes 11 minutes.
It is very very steep. I did notice one sign that said 78%
Coming down you could feel your feet pushing you back into the seat.
Dogs have to be muzzled and are extra (according to signs) but it is pretty relaxed.
When you get to the top they are doing some heavy work so the lake with its scenic view from the picnic spot wasn't photogenic today.
We had our "go to" emergency lidl tinned herring in tomato sauce whilst we waited for numbers 3 4 5 and 6 to arrive (we recommend the curry version as well. 1.49 euros)
There is another scenic viewpoint up the logging track where they have carved statues and a guess on some interesting facts in German. It is a hill more than a mountain in terms of steepness.
Once that is done we passed on walking up to a hut at 2000 m and returned to the upper station for a reasonably priced hot chocolate mit cream (I m learning German very slowly) for 3.60 but we also saw the apple strudel was only 3.50 and cream which I think is sahne was 30 cents more.
