2 roads we have done today.
The M might mean Mountain route. If it doesn't it should.
In order to get to these roads from Castellane we took the windy rocky but wide D6202 passing through Entrevaux beaux village and Pugets.
The interesting part, where we first realized our error of miscalculating these roads was when we turned left into the road marked isola 2000. Presumably 2000 m.
All you can see is a no entry sign having crossed the river. However a cave appears on your left and suddenly you notice the road goes through it. Then a couple of motorbikes appear out of nowhere and some heavily laden lorry is cutting your corner. And this went on for about 39 kms til we could turn right and head up Le tour de France route which was narrower twistier, shed loads more motorbikes and the same amount of lorries but big coaches as well.
The photos haven't been checked and I m positive they don't give a real reflection of the stunning scenery or road.
It's just a while since we have done one and we will definitely do it again, only mentally prepared for it.
