We passed this stunning lake 8 years ago but we're in the motorhome and it was aovely day and nowhere for us to park.
Today we were on a motorbike and it was cloudy.
If I were coming here in a motorhome I would park just prior to the actual lake on the bend coming up from Berchtesgaden and I would get there early. And I would pay as you have to.....unless you're on a motorbike where they do charge you unless you're conniving with your parking (guess what I did)
The photos will say it all, incredibly clear water with a flat stone walkway which is wheelchair friendly. Some drinking places on the northerns shore, boat rides, play areas. There are hints as to where to take photos from and then there is a gorge walk of the clear alpine water. Temperatures do not get above 16c in the water and there is a beach type area if your middle name is win hof.
2.5 km round the lake. Allow 2-2.5 hours including river walk. All free.
