We did this road almost 6 years to the day ago.
From memory these hills are the "Sound of Music"hills which are alive.
Unfortunately some severely bad map reading prior to leaving nearly took us back to Villach but we got there.
Today started off sunny, got overcast whilst we were out but almost immediate upon return it is beating down a sunny 19 degrees which is enough to burn us if we don't watch out here.
The road is a KC entry or 16 euros.
You get fleeting views both sides, 10 hairpins on bumpy roads and a 10% incline over 8km.
We were attacked by an eagle type bird 6 years ago and we worked it out to just after hairpin 10. We happened to see one in the same spot as well this year.
Not many vehicles at all on this road.
Once you reach the car park there is a trek uphill to the top for clear views of Millstattersee but we decided against it this time. There is a cafe at the top and Alpine Crows aplenty.
The billy bonus for me was another sticker onto the motorbike so I now have 2 Goldeck stickers.
Lunch was at one of the picnic spots and supplied by The Mighty Billa.
