We made Bergues, a free stopover, we have stayed at many times.
We made our last fill up at e Le clerc j 10 at Baileuill where we made our first diesel stop making it easier to work out the mpg (27.7) over the whole trip.
Bergues was nigh on empty upon arrival so lunch and a non worry about electricity cycle the 8 or 10 kms to Dunkirk.
There is a canal path. Don't take it. It may be less kms but I think it broke my bike and fixed my back ! Terrible road surfaces for half the route. We saw parts of Bergues we haven't seen before
and Dunkirk on a blowy overcast day ain't great. So we just cycled back. But this time via the woods with path going through them. Sometimes tarmac sometimes hard ground, 50 m of "better push it through this squidgy mud" but flat and even and shady throughout. It's the red line on the map.
Parts of Dunkirk
And a really left field sculpture in the woods. We think it is designed as a TV so you sit on the "sofas" watching the "tv" and you can see through the tv AND get your reflection so you see yourself and the trees behind you intermingled in some form of 3D type experience
