Unbeknown to us a few years ago before we could afford E bikes we had an electric fold up tandem. Brilliant in thought process but absolutely useless if you wanted to cycle up the river bed of the Danube.
Guess what we did ! So we bought E bikes especially for this purpose.
There is this sinkhole in the Danube where the water allegedly whirls round then goes underground and resurfaces.
Last time we were here it was dry as a bone but we have had thunderstorms stopping football games, 31 miles of motorway flooded, record heights of the Danube, the river covering trees just up the road from this sink hole. Today was our day.
So we went to the wrong sinkhole which can't be seen near the immendingen train station then found the proper one.
Armed with anticipation of seeing a huge bath plug we found absolutely nothing
150 days a year this bed is dry. It was wet this time but you couldn't tell there was a sinkhole.
It really is a waste of time (twice)
But one day we will get it right
