Weather was not good for motorbiking nor going up the route des cretes so we followed the Alsace wine route and would stop in villages that allowed us to park, for free, and wonder round them whilst planning, in our heads, a future cycling tour using free Aires which we would thinly disguise as a Domaine crawl.
This Aire is easy access for 7, no noticeable overflow, no water (that worked for 2 euros) very peaceful. Public toilets available.
In terms of prettiness, basing this region harshly, let's call Eguisheim a 10. Most others are 7+. As you drive through you may consider it a 7. So basically very pretty but nothing special, until you get on your feet and head for the church off the main road. This is where you find the nice church and a bit of a rampart walk. The town has all the winery stuff and there was a very helpful lady in the TO and we got regional aire map with costings for the whole of the wine route in geographical south to north locations. Usual cycle map as well.
Would definitely use this Aire again for our future tour with cycles
