When we have combined a motorhome and timeshare (see first journal entry) we usually take the apartment time as R&R time. Rather than travel about as we would had we done a fly-drive we tend to chill locally and simply walk everywhere.
Recently I saw on an FB travellers in Spain page that it seems that a lot of travellers park up on a site and if they want to go out for the day or days, they hire a car locally. Has anyone done this?
It is not something I have ever thought about but sometimes, parking a motorhome at a "sight" isn't as easy as the cheapest hired Aygo. The last hire car we had from Madrid was an Aygo. A small car that in a dark underground car park I managed to reverse into three feet wide concrete post that I hadn't seen! But that's another story...
With a dog in tow maybe hiring could be a problem? Public transport in Spain also seems to be out of the question.... Reggie is a medium sized dog and weighs 17.6kgs. Any advice?
