We decided to base ourselves at the Glenmore campsite for 4 days to explore this area, walk and cycle.
On Good Friday (07/04/23) we cycled uphill to the Cairngorms Funicular mountain railway base camp (4.5 miles), where we took the railway ride up to the top. It was a glorious sunny day with some beautiful views.
In the afternoon I cycled into Aviemore to get some provisions and have a look around ( 13 miles round trip).
Saturday (08/04/23) had a relaxing morning, we then did a walk on the Ryvoan pass up to ‘The Green Lochan’ (6.5 miles round trip).
After lunch I did a bike ride out to Boat of Garten, there were some beautiful views on the ride.
Sunday (09/04/23) a chilled morning with coffee and toast. Cloudy today but dry , so we did a walk around Loch Morlich
(4 miles).
Afternoon I did a bike ride to Loch an Eilein (16 miles)
Monday (10/04/23) woke up to the sound of rain on the roof.
After breakfast we decided to do some ‘chores’ tidying up the van and some laundry.
We had an early lunch and decided to cycle into Aviemore, so Sarah could have a look around and to buy some essentials, bread and milk.
We had coffee and cake, but Sarah was not impressed with Aviemore.
Moving onto Loch Ness tomorrow.
