Bregenz pfander Bodensee

You can catch a cable car up to a viewing platform at 1024 m for the princely sum of 30 euros each, or you can cycle up there (yeah) or take your vehicle. A bus runs up there and there is ample parking which you are supposed to pay for. No overnighting signs are present for motorhomes. No motorbikes that used the car park paid for anything.
It's reasonably steep but the trusty 110cc kept about 30 mph so probably about 10%.
Once you have made your decision about payment follow the road up on foot. (It would be wrong of me to tell you to drive up there to get closer and hope one of about 10 spaces for free were available !)
Just past this alleged free parking on the side of the road it splits and the road you want to take us blocked off, even for pedestrians. Near with it and take the other road, it's only an extra 100 yards and you can see the landslide probably caused by recent inclement weather.
You've already seen some views of the lake on the way up. Lindau was as clear as day. Waterfalls on the way up aswell. Reckon on a non hazy day you can probably see the other end of the lake. Ridiculous I know but you are that much higher. You can see the new Rhine and how far into the lake it goes and follow it back. My camera on my phone does these views no justice.
Tacky obligatory souvenir shop available along with cafe and restaurant for what must be one of the best table views available.
Great kids play area at the top and just to throw in an extra there is a free alpen wildlife park.

May I thank all the people who paid for the cable car or the car park for subsidising our free visit today đź‘Ť
We also got a better view through the decent camera of the opera stage and set
