We did some mhf word searching on this place prior to going and although only a few people have been 3 in particular blew it's trumpet ..... And rightly so.
First up is the opera in the middle of the lake. Opera is not my thing and neither are concerts but I would pay to watch this. The set is in the lake and you can see a bit of it. First show is 17th July and the show will run in 2025 as well. One funster to my knowledge has been and given excellent feedback.
You can't see much but still worth a gander because to get there you have to walk the promenade along the lake. Wow, easily one of the best lakeside promenades and I'm trying to think of a better one. Suspicion of night lights would make this a stunner with a setting sun across the western facing lake. We LL return for that
Then the town. Really clean totally pedestrianised. Great shopping, several eating zones. We just wondered about. Didn't know what we were looking or looking for, just enjoyed it.
We wanted to go out to the new Rhine where it runs into Bodensee.
You would need to look at the map or the next entry to see why. They lead the river into the middle of the lake and roads go out to it. We suspect only halfway and then walk but in short you can get into the middle of the lake on foot.....unless it has rained so hard recently the roads had flooded and you couldn't get to the end and it appears not to the harbour on the left which had the look of a nice place, but every cloud has a silver lining as the rather attractive German young lady removed her jeans to walk through the knee high water revealing what I am reliably informed is a thong (and only just) but the real billy bonus was a thunderstorm arrived just as she hit land so we hid under a tree, unfortunately right where she decided to put on her skimpy jeans which she struggled with. I was not allowed to assist.
We also tried a berg but in fairness it is just a hill with a restaurant
