Roger S to thank for this one.
We had noted it as a possibility and the Saturday market was pointed out to us
When we woke at Salle Les verdons the wind was blowing significantly enough for us to consider cycling and beach wouldn't be much fun so we trundled down to Aups and headed for the aire next to the swimming pool. We managed, to our surprise, to get in especially how busy it was. It's difficult to comment on the aire when it's full of cars attending the market but it looked new surface and as if it had been spruced up. Probably shared with cars anyway.
The market was right over the road as traffic jammed up as it let pedestrians over.
The first part was sectioned off for tables for local hobby groups or charities then into a full market which was well attended. The usual stuff but as my back was the stiffest it has been for 7 months the brand new recliner lounge chairs at 100 euros (yes un cent) took my eye.
3 fruit and veg stalls and one rotisserie chicken size market. It had all the sorts of stuff (about 4 local honey sellers with 16 euros a kilo or 18 for lavender) but didn't see a knife stall ! Probably 100 or so stalls.
The town itself has an historic centre and a very pleasant walk round. Difficult to tell if it is a large village or small town, we would plump for the latter.
Definitely on for a return at some stage but we would miss the market or stay longer next time.
On the way out to Salernes on the right way a car park other motorhomes had parked in probably because of market day.
