The day didn't go as well as it could have done.
Loads of 50mph around a3 and m25 meant we missed the 0750 boarding by 10 minutes so got the 0930 that we booked which left at 1230.arriving in calais at 1500 which blew any chance of Luxembourg after being awake 24 hours already.
Did a quick leclerc shop with large prawns at 8.95 a kilo. Diesel in france at 1.61 with enough to get us to lx. Then it was a hunt a place to stop at where we haven't been before and is free.
Right next to a large lake with ample parking at Conde sur l'escaut the way in was interesting having gone through peruwelz but decided against the aire at the port.
There is a tramway even though this appears to be the countryside and we think it goes to valenciennes. So roundabouts with teams going through the middle, one way street with high kerbs next to the team, sharp left handed and up the single track but then it appears. 4 of us here at the moment.
Don't think it's a swimming lake. Children's playground and bird watching hide in putting distance.
Should be worth more of our time but beer, walk, dinner, bed and off in the morning for us.
