Paul Merton and Suki hitting the roads again.

We were at Buxton C&MC the week after they were there. Warden told us their MH arrived driven by film crew followed by them arriving in chauffeur driven car after it was all set up.
Most TV is an illusion such as strictly come dancing the pretence is the votes come in and the dance off is the following day, the reality is it’s all done on the same day but I think we are all happy with the illusion the silver screen provides.

Am watching with complete disdain at this.
It’s all too twee and full of misty eyed whimsy.
Wheres the rain, the mud, the yapping site dogs and kids on bikes, the vested and shorts wearing, crocks n’ socks barbeque’rs et al?
And now they are looking at Caravans!!!
And it’s about time Paul Merton changed his shirt!
She’s had at least 3 outfit changes so far.

Not watched Ch5 for a while - seems to be mostly annoying adverts for $h1t I don't want or need. Only about 20 mins of a show which is inoffensive.

She needs a little more practice at doing the EHU! Diagonally from the socket across a locker door, coil of cable on the ground next to the driver's door, half coiled cable in mid air close to the post.

Yep, spotted that.
Absolutely rubbish really.
The avatar to the programme is a “motorway surfer” campervan, stereotypical of the so called Cornish surfing scene, and the products being reviewed wouldn’t make it onto the shelves at our local B and M store in the ‘ reduced to clear’ section.
Sorry, but for me it was an hour I will never get back in my life, wasted. 🤔

I thought we finally agreed, last time this programme was discussed, that it was a bit of harmless fun, watching a pleasant couple enjoying a new experience. A programme not to be taken seriously and with the usual fake situations etc. Will it change the way any of us uses our motor home ? Probably not. If you don't want to watch it there's a little button marked 'Off'. Personally, as a loooong time fan of Paul Merton, I enjoy the programme and am happy he's found a lovely lady to share his life after the sadness of losing his previous wife. Happy New Year to all. Gill.
