I think your deer is a Muntjac, never seen one but it looks right. Broken Link Removed

Your squirrel is of course a Tree Rat, or more politely a Grey Squirrel.

Good pictures. I've never understood why the Grey Wagtail is so named. The yellow stands out so much, but then there already is a Yellow Wagtail. Perhaps they should call them the Yellow and Yellower Wagtail?

Cracking photo's Gaz, I'm just learning with my new Nikon d7100 and I am currently learning what you have achieved well (eg squirrel), the depth of field and creating the out of focus - I am finding my new hobby extremely therapeutic too.

I know when I have really cracked it - when I get photos like yours.::bigsmile:

Thanks for sharing.

LIke the pics Gaz - especially the Yellow Wagtail. There's one at my workplace which I'm trying to get a decent pic of but it's never at eye level.

I have about 50 pics of Gary trying to photograph the wagtail if anyone is interested? ::bigsmile:

Hilarious watching him clamber in and out of the water, up rocks etc while the little bird darted about ::bigsmile:

(nice pics Gary)

This is one of my favourite wildlife pictures, taken on Skomer. I love the way the seriously earnest photographer and his kit are camouflaged when there's not a tree in sight around most of the island:

The rest of my pics tagged 'Wildlife' are here on 3 pages, but I have a pretty loose interpretation of the term 'Wildlife'.

Sometimes you can spend hours in a hide, not getting the shot you came for, though when you DO, they tend to be the most rewarding. On other occasions, it's just about being at the right spot at the right time, and this below is one of those, and one of my favourite shots: a leopard on the Chobe River in Botswana, taken from a boat. Normally very elusive, we had been alerted to its presence by an almighty crescendo of bird alarms as he stalked through the trees, before finally coming out into the open to take a drink.

Some I took on the road to Prudhoe Bay Alaska last year.
Not great quality but a bit different and all taken from the seat of a motorbike

I waited ages to get a shot of this little chap, then he ran out behind me and waited to cross the road, just long enough for me to swing the camera round and get a quick shot

From bears to mites - Great to see all these wildlife shots - and, for those that may not be aware: If you should ever see a stoat scurrying around and disappearing, as they inevitably do, try and grab their attention by doing your best impersonation of a rabbit, or come to that, your best of any small mammal (use your imagination) :winky: They are incredibly curious creatures and will frequently come out to take a peek. I did with this one below - one we saw running through some rocks beside the campervan...

Christmas Day 2009, walking beside a local river, I catch a glimpse of a swan approaching fast and low so I whipped the camera out, pointed and shot. I only had the one chance and I got lucky. Slightly over-exposed I know, but you can't have everything.
