7 Years after 5 years with caravan.
Used Canons since I bought my first canon A1 in Hong Kong in 1979, I still have it. ::bigsmile: Since then I have owned plenty. including A titanium Leica M6, and a Hasselblad 501c > Alway scome back to canon and the camera of the last 3 years has been the EOS1dMarkii which is a superb piece of kit. I also have a tiny 7meg Canon Ixus and a Pentax Compact that can take pictures under water.

I've had a couple of Canon Ixus' which I rated highly; a 200, (which my son is still using) and a 500 which has gone faulty:Sad: Can't find anybody who will repair it and Canon want £250 up front to even look at it. I think I'll be getting a Nikon next.

We got a Nikon Coolpix for our first digital camera.
Then
Kodak V570 Dual Lens which I need to take my before and after photos of rooms we stage for sale
I love the quality and the huge amount of photos the card holds. But I find the charger clunky and the control knob is tiny. So anyone with a touch of rheumatics like me, will find it tricky at times.

I have a Canon EOS 400D. I must confess at the moment I use it almost exclusively on the auto settings  One of my challenges for when we go off in the van is to learn how to use it properly!

Learning all the manual settings can be quite challenging, you are right. As my mate keeps saying to me....read the manual!

He started off with really cheap Praktica cameras and lenses, graduating through to Canon equipment. Been photographing military aircraft now for years and lots of his work can be viewed here;

I have always been a Cannon fan but changed tack a couple of years ago. I now carry in the van.

Cannon DC220, Cannon Camedia, Pentax Optio 555 compact, Pentax K-M

The movie camera is hardly used simply because I get no pleasure in film editing.
I would rather time spent on my modelling.

I use a Canon EOS 40D for serious photography days, which do not happen as often as I would like and a Panasonic TZ4 which is my take everywhere camera. Both cameras give very pleasing results.

Here's one taken with the Panny

I have been looking at the Nikon coolpix P6000 as it has the inbuilt GPS for geotagging which I think would be brilliant.

BUT

Seems it can take 15 minutes to find itself every time you move so that seems pretty much useless.

I like the Canon G10 but I want a wider lens so still looking.

main camera is a Nikon D70 with a nikkor 18 - 70 lens also a nikkor 70 - 300 . Pocket camera is Fuji finepix F30, a brilliant little job which will take photos almost in the dark without a flash.
This was taken in Port Barcares in June 2006, a great spot for Kite Surfing.

Nikon Coolpix P50.

That really is a cracking photo Jim. She's very photogenic isn't she? But then it takes a good camera eye to spot the shot; well done.

I'd forgotten this thread until I noticed the date of the first post.
When it started I had a Canon Ixus which was giving me problems. Mrs JayDee gave me a Nikon Coolpix P50 last (2008) christmas. Preferred that over the Fuji etc. because it has an optical viewfinder. There are conditions when it is very difficult to see the composition on the screen, so the viewfinder comes in very handy. Takes nice photos too. Slightly bulkier than the Ixus, but another advantage is it runs on Nickel Metal Hydride AA size rechargeables. One pair last for ages. A lot cheaper that the Canon power pack I had to use in the Ixus.
