I know very little about apps and viruses, but from my point of view,I would say it's your phone that has the virus not the whole app, and it just shows up on your A v thing.

I'm intrigued that no one else reports problems with theirs. I wonder if an anyone could explain if how an app can piggy back into an app and reside there. Could the same malware have infected a different app?

I wouldn’t have the first idea of how to do a security scan on my phone, Samsung S20, but there appears to be a constantly running ‘app?’ in the background that checks the phone and apps continuously. Never flagged a problem

I ran the test. Wrote the evidence. I don't work there any more.
But I do know that all the major AV companies employ Apple programmer and their products cover all platforms.

There is black market where you can buy exploits. The price to buy the code that pokes holes in iOS has been lower than Android for a couple if years.
