That must mean they were nesting and laying eggs, back in Feb..

Which seems very early...

Hi Mo, We have baby Sparrows everywhere and our Swallows arrived yesterday! No doubt they will decorate the m/h when I finish polishing it for P/boro.
Cheers

We have seen plenty small birds this season, usually just their beaks have been left, but on occasions our whole room has been decorated with feathers, pigeons I think.
My wife likes cats.... I like birds; no contest!

Haven't noticed any young birds around us as yet, we've been on a CL on the outskirts of Dumfries since last Saturday. I bought lots of bird food and fat balls to take home, there are some nice cherry trees near the van and wanted to hang up a couple of fat balls. But just noticed the fat balls don't have any nets on them, so will need to use them in the holder when we get home:Sad:
There were 6 goldfinches outside the van yesterday, but no young ones.

On and off for many years.
The sparrows have managed to evict the blue tits from their nest box  Although the sparrows are too big for the box the males are pecking away at the entry trying to enlarge it.

However I can also see nesting material around the nest box on the shed - the nest box that was previously ignored so maybe some bird has decided it is a desirable residence.

We got a pair of goldfinches building a nest, plenty of tits about and a great spotted woodpecker visiting the nuts daily. :thumb:
