Thinking about Austria (1 Viewer)

Hi team, could somebody give me some great places to stay in a motorhome in Austria please? Somewhere with lakes, rivers, and maybe mountains. Many thanks

We are off there for 5 weeks of a 7 week holiday in May.

We are off to Carinthia staying near Millstat and somehwere else the other side of Klagensomething

Our cunning plan is to purchase the carinthia card for 5 weeks for 80 odd euros each and get everything free. It is worth 330 euros in chair lifts alone. We will also be entitled to the Millstat card.

I have an interactive map available I can let you have a read only copy of that has all the wild swimming points from the wild swimming in the alps book. I am still doing research and looks like we will be heading rhine falls, alpinestrabbe Munich and then doing salzburg and halstatt on the way in or the way out

If you fancy visiting Salzburg this is a good site to stop at, just park where you like there is a little shop and restaurant on site that the locals seem to come to visit.
Lovely lady owner who gave us free bus tickets, bus stop is a 10 min walk then about 10 min trip into Salzburg.

We went to Switzerland last year, this year we wanted to try Austria, but we know nothing about it.

Must say I prefer Switzerland to Austria but that’s only on the few places I have been to at each country….
We drove from Salzburg to Bled over the mountains and it was something special, made my old van grunt a bit though

We love camping arneitz in Faakersee, great if you have a scooter to get to villach or you can catch the train/bus

Yes that’s the beauty of having a van Ade, we were heading for Sweden after Caravan Salon last year but bad weather forecast so we headed to Switzerland
