Hey Folks,
First post to the board, thanks for having this community.
My problem: My fridge works fine on 240v. However, when using gas, the electrode ticks, successfully ignites the gas. However, it keeps ticking for ~30seconds and then the gas safety shutoff kicks in and closes the valve, flame goes out.
Working back, I’ve:
• Cleaned the electrode
• Ensured its position is well set.
• Replaced electrode with new one
Issue still occurs. This leads me to believe it’s either the gas pressure, or the power unit.
Power units are a rare commodity, and I’m facing paying £100s, if I can be lucky enough to find one.
I have a few questions before I crack on with replacing the PCB:
• Is this likely to be a gas pressure issue? On my cooker, there is one hob which is struggling with receiving sufficient gas pressure to maintain a flame. The other 2 x hobs are fine. Could this be an indication of a common root cause between fridge and cooker, or likely separate?
• How do I get the gas pressure and resolve any blockages?
• If it turns out to be the PCB, does it matter if I replace the current automatic (SES) power unit with a manual, or must it be automatic?
• Any further advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance folks.
Cheers
