Warning light came on "Check Emissions".
Took to local garage (non-Renault). Couldn't find anything wrong so cleared fault.
Warning came back within an hour so back to garage. They could find nothing wrong so cleared fault again - so far, 24 hours later, its not recurred!
Garage suggest condensation, not helped by cold and wet weather can cause this "fault"?
At all times with fault showing:-
  • still pulls like a train, no limp mode or reduced performance
  • no smoke from exhaust
  • no noise
  • no noticeable reduction in mpg

Thoughts?

Get yourself an OBD reader, so you can get the code number and check online what it is,and you can clear the fault with it as well.

The check emissions cover can cover quite a few different things as can injector fault if that comes up

Guess what?
Out for drive this morning and "check emissions" warning came back on.
Driving past our friendly car servicing garage so he stuck his £1200 diagnostic scanner on it and it came up as the nox sensor. He can't change it as he can't do vans but I've got a diagnosis at least ........
(He cleared the fault but he reckons it will come back)

Can't remember exactly what sensor it was but my 2015 Movano had same fault warning last year... sensor replaced.. fault not returned..

Well that was an expensive repair! £903 .....
Struggled to get anyone capable to take it on but eventually Lawson AutoTech in Larbert did full diagnostic including checking wiring and connectors. Only then were they 100% sure it was the nox sensor itself. Replaced it and no more warning lights ..............
