Just to add to my last regarding Triumphs. I bought my fathers 1965 MG Midget when I moved to Germany and another ex apprentice bought a TR6.
I killed the MG on the Autobahns but the TR6 lasted quite a long time. The bigger engine was better suited to the Autobahns I suppose.
I HAD aTR4a nice long stroke engine go on for ever

First car I went abroad in with my now wife. Very disappointed you couldn’t happily drive long disinherited the top down, to tiring, but when we were staying on the Italian Riviera a convertible was fantastic .
