We call them the clockwork birds, the way the fly around the coast when we are sailing is fabulous.

They’re one of the many reasons we love going to Shetland so much. Loads of them at Sumburgh lighthouse. You can almost touch them. Beautiful birds. Lovely photos, thanks for posting.

Friends went very recently, I think she said there's only about 8 pairs there.

that prompted me to have a look at some photos I took on a day off from kayaking up around shetland ..
they are so funny watching them take off and land on the water ...they make hard work of it

i was up at Bempton end of April and never saw any, but did get pics of a few from the cliffs between Flamborough head and Bempton.

They say Penmon point puffin island has but they are on the wrong side of the island
