They are also discounting some of the the actual GPS units as well now (http://www.satmap.co.uk/ukstore/index.php?cPath=321_306) but that is probably because a replacement, the Active 12 is just around the corner. The new model has a very high resolution screen, an altimeter and bluetooth but at around £450 it won't be for everyone!

I use my Active 10 mostly for cycling and walking but it has also proved useful in the 'van using the car mount. It is no good for giving directions of course, I use a car-type Garmin for that but having a scrolling map, OS 1:50K in the UK and a 1:100K map when in France gives you a much better picture of where you are and the names, for example, of villages you pass through or near. Also very useful when you get close to your destination.

Thanks for the Devonkeeper, i use the active ten same as you cycling and walking. i paid top price for the peak district one but on a plus side just ordered the Snowdonia card . thanks again.
