Hi we are going to Santander from Portsmouth, does any body know where you can stay over night in Portsmouth near the ferry terminal ? Kevin& Lynne

We stayed in the actual terminal, lots of motorhomes parked around the edge

Hi thanks for that

This is safe with Security guards around through the night and only a couple of hundred yards from my house

I phoned Brittany last week to book a crossing and was told not able to park on port before midnight for 8am sailing, so am now going to go Dover Calais as can stay at Canterbury park and Ride night before.

Hi just out of interest where is the 8am ferry going to as I have just checked the sailing to Santander & as far as I know it leaves around mid day cheers Rod

Goes to Bilbao and is £80 cheaper than Santander, but we are going via Dover now at end of month on route to Benicarlo rally. Another reason for not going on Brittany is the fact that a few crossings have been cancelled this month.

Anyone else for an overnight stopover at the marina. Popeye are there public toilets my ever practical wife asks! :-)

there are several CC Cl's on Hayling Island. WE stayed at The Stables last year - CL westcroft stables 02392 463244 £10 per night and a 2 minute walk to see the windsurfers:)

I'm sorry I never looked back at this thread......Yes there are toilets but I believe they close them at around 6 (18.00) and reopen them around 6 (06.00), however there are more toilets and showers at the Sunsail sailing headquarters (marked), though they will need a code to get into.

It is quite common for Motor Homes to overnight there amongst the boats as the owners who are titivating their boats often come from their homes and overnight in a motorhome. They even plug into the electric points strewn around.

Toilets this is Portsmouth we can not afford them any moor so they have shut most down,

But we do have a nice cycle lane along the seafront that cost a fortune and is dangers.

As for parking you can park along the seafront lots do over night.

It will be the seafront for us in July.

Found parking Brill! Saw a couple of security guards who advised us where to park, no problem. At present having pint in. Weatherspoons on Boardwalk couldn't be better.
