Anyone stayed here? Or familiar with the CityKamp brand from other locations?

I need somewhere near the city for a couple of nights in early January.

Thanks.

We have but it was a few years back in a caravan.

It was okay, very convenient but just okay.

Felt safe, lots of space and staff friendly, it was convenient for Lyon. We would go back again if needed.

It did have one of those stupid service kiosk things with a petrol pump type handgun for fresh water in the same cupboard as the poop hole. I knocked the fresh water gun as I poured my poop and it went down the hole and covered it in sewage. 😫

I did clean it as best as I could, put me off using the things forever though so I hope it’s gone. If it isn’t, don’t fill up. 🤮

Thanks John. I’ve read the same about the FW fill in a couple of reviews 🤮
Will definitely take water elsewhere.

Sounds like it will do the job for a couple of nights on my own. 👍

I would stay there again, especially on my own, it’s literally right off the autoroute and just outside Lyon. Head over the autoroute bridge to the shopping centre for cheaper fuel than the autoroute too. 👍

Forgot to update after my stay.

It was ok for a couple of nights on my own. They gave me a mucky pitch so it was a faff to not treck dirt into the van. I noticed the next morning that there were plenty of clean pitches but didn’t bother moving as I was only there for one other night.

The service point is indeed a disaster. The black dump and FW hoses are now on opposite sides of the kiosk but inexplicably, there is a sign on the dump side saying it’s ok to rinse the empty cassette with the black or white (FW) hoses. Mad stuff.

As I was driving up to the service point the guy already there was emptying his cassette into the grey drive-over drain. He then picked up the FW hose and shoved it into his cassette. I leaned out the window and told him that was drinking water but he wasn’t bothered.

I actually waited till I was back in the P&R at Canterbury before I filled up with water.

It did the job, which was a place to kip for a couple of nights while I made sure my first born was settled into Lyon for her 6 mths study abroad. 😀

Yep, campsite. I should add the +ve bits too.

Easy to get to from the main road. Big supermarket a few mins drive away, with petrol station.
Apparently easy to get bus into Lyon but Uber was reasonable so used that.

Nice looking big reception & shop. Barrier with code entry and exit.

No safety concerns at all. Even in early Jan there were a good few folk staying. It’s well enough lit at night too.

That’s exactly how I remember it too!

Okay in general, mucky pitch with a crap emptying point. 😂

Echo the comments above in all respects.

The large supermarket is an easy walk, just the other side of the main road. Access is via footpath across the round-a-bout which passes over the main road so an easy, safe walk.

PS
My wife has bilateral knee-replacement but still found it an easy walk.
