Job done...

13 marathon distance or over races in the year 13.

Starting in April the journey has been long tough and not without tears...

Today I was in big trouble, Friday had seen me laid up in bed with noravirus, yesterday I felt a little better so headed off to guisbourough for roseberry topping ultra.

I was going to quit at mile 4 as I was struggling, by mile 7 I was sure I should give up. At mile 20 I had perfected the art of throwing up and running at the same time accross some real tough moorland... By mile 29 I was hopelessly lost thanks to some kids moving some route tape. I kept going lost in guisbourough forest until I eventually found my way again.

Bang on 34 and a bit miles, I was home and finished.....in pain but alive...

And with my medal and pride in tact,

Monies raised topped £800 ....

Next up ?

Who knows, but probably not until the new year:thumb:

Thanks funsters who have supported.

Very well done Paul you deserve a large beer after that, this was certainly mind over body for you in this race. You will know better than anyone in your line of work that the mind is an amazingly strong thing and you have proved this today.

Well done.

How many times round Uttoxeter racecourse on New Year's Day 2014 before the racing?

I'd pay good money to watch that.

I bet you'd be quicker than that horse you bet on last time

/brilliant job mega congratulations

Friday had seen me laid up in bed with noravirus, yesterday I felt a little better so headed off to guisbourough for roseberry topping ultra.

Please dont take this the wrong way but, not being funny but you should have stayed in bed. How many people could you have infected with norovirus on the way especially with all that throwing up? What would Nikki have done if you had collapsed and been in hospital long term??? She thinks the world of you

By mile 29 I was hopelessly lost thanks to some kids moving some route tape. I kept going lost in guisbourough forest until I eventually found my way again.

Bang on 34 and a bit miles, I was home and finished.....in pain but alive...

I admire your commitment but seriously your health and family comes first xxxxx Many congratulations on the amount raised

A real superhuman effort Paul!:thumb:

A bit of a shame that the generally well off motorhome owning community didnt dig deeper in recognition of your valiant efforts though....

Maybe a reminder of how people can donate might be useful at this generous time of year.

You deserve that drink. In fact, I think a lifetime membership should be offered! Also it will be a crime if you ever buy a drink at the bar again!!!!

Arise, Sir Paul of Motorhome!!

In fact, a knighthood would be appropriate! You already carry a hairy horse in your van!:roflmto:
