I have received outstanding service when my alternator packed up in Croatia. Mercedes Mobilo washed their hands of us despite previously assuring us that we were fully covered.
We camped at Camping Stobrec Split on the ACSI scheme and were struggling to get a relacement alternator. Boris on camp reception got his local garage involved and they sourced a part, checked it all out and fitted replacement within 4 hours at very little cost.
They are an older fashioned Mercedes garage with large stocks of older Mercedes spares and are a family business. The daughter Anita speaks excellent English and understands Mercedes part numbers. They even have an old microfiche system. They speak Mercedes from all years.
I am always quick to criticize when things go wrong but this sort of service needs flagging up as well.
I have no connection whatsever with either the camp site or the garage. The garage is only 400 metres from the camping ground.
