I'm a newbie, but owned a caravan about 30 years ago.
I am thinking of taking Bessie (Bessacarr E560) down to Le Mans next year for the Classic races.
Can anybody advise good places to stay on the circuit.

There is a campsite on track with some basic toilets and showers with some hook ups
Have stayed there twice before and are due again at the end of September for the FiA truck racing
We sail Portsmouth to Caen and then about a 2 hour journey once of the boat.

The classic is much quieter than the 24hr and the track sites more manageable. We have used Bounty Lakes https://www.bountyloisirs.com for events, it is away from the circuit and they run shuttle minibuses. We will probably use a track site, just need to get organised

Chateau Chanteloup. They run a shuttle down to the course. A few of the teams and owners clubs were there when we went. Themed barbecue night (James Bond on our visit). Try to get a pitch on the lake side.

We stayed on a designated place trackside next to the entrance/service road which was great for viewing the arriving non-competing cars. No hook up or toilets or anything. Went with 2 other campers a few years ago now. Hubby just said we were all members of Autoclub d”ouest (for grandstand tickets to the main 24hr race) so that may have helped. But he (hubby) just said we just went to the website.
