Hi - I am a brand new, disabled, motorhome newbie, and have only been out three times in it but am now totally obsessed and addicted! Given the choice, I would be out in it every weekend, but we have to arrange care for our twenty year old son who is blind and autistic. Use of our six year old Compass Avantgarde is further complicated by the fact that I have had both legs, my right arm, and most of my left hand amputated, as well as other health issues such as diabetes and a kidney transplant! However, I like a challenge, and have done some exciting things since owning the MH that I woudn't have done before. The best experience so far being a private falconry lesson at a shooting/archery/falconry centre called Perriswood, on the Gower peninsula. It was the most amazing thing I have done in ages, and I am now completely addicted to owls! I would be interested to hear if there are any other motorhoming amputees out there, but am quite happy to chat to anybody about anything! My hobbies include weaving, cooking and looking after my two sons - Thomas (20), and Alex (17), and my four Maine Coon cats

Hi Jane welcome to the fun and respect for getting out there and enjoying yourself. Why not come and join us at the Ilfracombe rally in august no owls but lots of buzzards flying around.

Welcome and a massive thank you

Hi Jane we're still looking for our "perfect" motorhome and think because we have health issues(which we once thought were important) we need to be very careful in selection etc. Your post is just amazing and so thought provoking and admirable. Puts our life into true perspective and balance.
Enjoy your motor home experiences to the full you clearly deserve it all.
Thanks again just wish I had your attitude and outlook

    Hi and welcome Jane!

I will echo what Oldflemo said and add, when you'll get used to the whole stuff and need some other challenge, I'll be waiting for you down South West France. I'm sure you're one of these brave ones who are never afraid of what's round the corner, you seem to know it all, and sound like you had it all as well!

I love to chat, and ....could take you to Rocamadour where you can see, touch all sorts of birds of pray, as well as owls if I remember well.

Enjoy your travels .... hoping to meet you sometime!

    Welcome to fun

There are plenty of funsters with disabilities and we all manage to get out and have fun.

So why not look up the rallies and meets section and come and meet us and join in

Hope to meet you in the future.

Hello and all respect to you - get out there and enjoy. One thing we have found about MHing is that it gives you a sense of freedom. :thumb:

Hi Jane welcome to Fun and thanks for your post-sometimes it takes a visitor to point out what's in your own backyard
Have added Perriswood to my favs and we'll be going there soon.
