How many NCB's? Start from scratch? (1 Viewer)

We had our car until Nov last year, full no claims bonus but then sold it and didn't get another car.

However, did have MH insurance but appreciate this is an entirely separate entity when it comes to insurance and no claims bonus

So, we are looking at purchasing a car again...Will I have to start from scratch with no claims?

You can have no insurance for 2 years, after that you lose your NCB…

Most probably not if less than 2 or 3 years, we had a break of 18 months and had no problem even when changing provider

Do you have the certificates?

Possibly somewhere within the depths of my emails but may have deleted when thought little need for them but I'm sure I can obtain a copy from the insurer (if my brain kicks in to remind me whom)

I had a traders policy for about 30 years and when we let It go we had to start again with no NCB allowance, what we found was company's like Direct Line could give a discount on their premiums if they wanted your business, as against the comparison sites that just see that you have 0 years NCB.
