My dad used to love it on crusty bread or by the spoon full if mum wasn’t looking. I am not too keen personally.
He also liked spam sandwiches or fritters. Me and our last muttly used to like ham spam fritters from our favorite chippy in Skegness.

More than toes wet now!
Used to kick a ball about in a park close to the production site in Dumfries when I was a nipper.
One of the gatemen sometimes "gave out" tins to the kids as they went passed the gate.(y)
Closed in the early 90's with production moved to Derbyshire.:(

You get it in toothpaste style tubes from the polish shops, can't remember what they call it though. They do chocolate and vanilla flavours but the original is best.

Mum used it in truffles and we always loved cleaning out the tin!

There's a Nestlé factory just up the road from us and they had a tiny factory shop in town where you could buy the condensed milk in "toothpaste" style tubes like monzer mentioned, great for kids to have a slurp, then put it back in your pocket.
When I started my apprenticeship in the 70's, the place I worked made millions of tins for Carnation up at Dumfries Gellyneck, I'm sure the factory's still there, you can see it from the bypass, but I don't know what it's used for these days.

Think it's producing dry products like Coffeemate, etc.

If my mum is to be believed, she ate (drank?) so much if it, it rotted her teeth and she’s had full set of dentures for most of her life.

I’m not sure that’s true though - wasn’t there a phase in the 40s/50s when people had all their teeth out and replaced them with full sets of dentures?

Before that.....in the 1800s young women had all their rotten teeth pulled and dad bought a set of wooden dentures as a wedding present before their wedding day
