and Eurotunnel cost a fortune £478 returns last two weeks in July add that £100 + pounds of diesel to get to the channel
Add travel and breakdown insurance not so cheap then

Unfortunately it's only 51 Onlycamp sites out of many thousands and I can't say I've ever heard of them before.
Seems like a very reasonable pricing structure, but there may be reasons behind the reduction ?

ONLYCAMP NEW RATES

The French campsite company Onlycamp has introduced new lower rates across its campsites. The 51 site company now has just two rates, campsites with a swimming pool are €22 in July/August & €15 for the rest of the year, sites with no pool are €15 & €12. Electric is extra at €5/ night.

I doubt CMC are listening

Or get the ferry and loads of cheap booze to soften the blow, oh and better weather, roads and places to visit, walk and cycle

Decent Booze isn’t that cheap in France and neither is the ferry .
Weather here is warm enough in the summer
French N roads are no better than here with countless roundabouts and speed bumps
the motorway are good but expensive tolls

Decent booze - Whazatt - drinkable stuff is way cheaper over the pond.
You'd struggle to argue that the weather is better here in any argument but have a go .
The roads are a gazillion times better and I don't mind the roundabouts and chicanes, in fact I wish they would bring them in here

In my experience there is little comparison, the N Roads in France are clearly superior…well they are to those in Kent.

I’d say there is a £4-5 per bottle saving across the range compared to the UK.
and neither is the ferry
Although it’s gone up since Covid all my ferry crossings (7m) are less than £100 each way.

Then the aires etc are cheaper, the roads are less busy, the local foods are very good value and the cycle ways are legendary. It’s paradise for us but likely not for others, each to their own.

By way of clarification comparison my daughter lives in Suffolk and we thought we would spend a week near her recently but site fees were £36-£44 per night which is too much for us.

If you want to save money in France you could do a free stopover every single night. No camping fees whatsoever!

You can also do free stopovers in the UK but I think it's quite a bit more difficult.

Eight Years and 28,000 Miles.
Couldn't give a monkies about cheap booze, but three month touring Europe even with the cost of crossing the channel is a hell of a lot cheaper than trying to tour the UK.

And don’t even get me started on having to book up everywhere.

Why go at the most expensive time? Out may 14th back June 14th tunnel £220 return.I have breakdown 365 days for uk and Europe so it's no extra..Will probably have ten free nights and others at probably average 15 euros a night for the rest..Big bonus is the weather...Not staying in uk to be ripped off and get wet.BUSBY.

Not quite what you quoted
And being overnight you'd need a cabin

If over 60 you also get a discount (20% I think) with this DFDS crossing.

I wouldn't travel on a Saturday as its more expensive and I took a 20% for over 60 and a cabin is only £35. Lot of people don't bother with a cabin as its only a 4 hours crossing.

Nope 7.5 metre
If your getting it cheaper you must be travelling out and returning at some unsociable hour when I prefer to be in bed
Sorry I don't do night time driving

Use a CL. many in suffolk from £15 with no ehu to £20 with on decent CL's. Usually better located than the club sites too.

Should add CCC also has many good THS in next few months at £10-15 range too.

Long time
We have been over for 12 days and not spent anything on stops or water, used the Tunnel.
For us it’s cheaper than staying in UK.
