Going to check google images, but given location maybe a Coypu, one of the scariest things I saw working on a farm in the 70’s

not actually scary itself, more that it just looks like a massive rat

Edit - don’t think so now, it has slightly webbed feet that would show in the footprint

how about mink ?

I agree, a dog. The giveaway are the four toes which narrows it down to a member of the dog family. Cats have four toes on their hind feet but the claws would not be visible. The fox is a member of the dog family and therefore has four tows but the paw print is markedly different to a domestic dog. It is much narrow with the two outer toes being level with the rear of the inner two. The paw prints in the OP are wide and match a typical dog - albeit a small one. :)
