I am not voting, don't know what all the fuss is about, if you don't like it ignore it.
I don't know why we have a Red number on showcase, it doesn't interest me so I just ignore it, simples. (y)

like it.. not an issue on a 28" Monitor.. no idea what the fuss is about

but maybe it is for those on teensie weensie play things called iPads.. ;)

Keith, why should I or any member just ignore it, I did not ask for it in the first place!

I think Jim does an amazing Job and tries to keep the forum up to date, I bet he wonders some times why he bothers.

It seemed a bit obvious yesterday but it was only because it was new. I've not noticed it today unless prompted to look for it.

I also respect Jim's work here on the forum keeping it up to date, but having choice would be nice as well.

I'm sure when I produced the resource, I mentioned that the messenger aspect will be entirely voluntary. I just checked and I actually wrote. "And while trying to please everyone, you'll be able to decide if you want live messaging or the more traditional 'Conversations" So I do not know what the fuss is about either

The ability to switch it off has been added for most members this morning and the original help file has a sentence added to show you how to do it. :)

Jim, please kill this thread as removal can be done, thanks

No need to vote....i just turned it off and the box vanished.

ditto..don't seem to have one on my pad, wondering how to turn it on to see what the fuss is about..
Click user name (top right on task bar)
Click preferences.
Tick top box. (Enable messenger chatting)
Save
Small box appears bottom right corner.

Maybe not configured to work with ipad.

yes, the top box is ticked, saved all settings again just to make sure but no sight of this elusive box, can't work on ipads then, oh well, shan't get my knickers in a twist about it, just curious to see it that's all.. :)

Just noticed it:D my puter screens big enough to accommodate it.;)

Phone, tablet, PC & laptop.
Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer & Ghostery browsers...

Everytime I click on save after unticking any boxes, I get a nice banner announcing "My changes have been saved"...

...and promptly it restores all the ticks to the boxes I've just unticked - arrrrgh :boxing:!

It's driving me to :beerchug:... any suggestions?

its doing the same for me must have tried 100 times going to go and have a whiskey

Where's the logic in that?
No matter, it seems to have worked - many thanks @TheCaller
I suppose I'll have to put that bottle away now :crying1:.
