Hi everyone,

First time posting. We have a leak under our sink in the bathroom and I can't figure out why. I can see where it is coming from but not why it is leaking. Anyone had similar and able.to shed some light. Seems to be coming from by the blue ring (unsure of proper name) Picture and video attached.

Remove the pressure from the system. Press the blue collar into the gold fitting and pull the red pipe out. Ideally mark with a pen where blue collar is first on the pipe.

Then try reinserting the red pipe, and see if it goes in further. Before this check pipe isn’t damaged or scored. If it is, then cut off 20mm or so, with a nice clean end, and then reinsert.

I think the pipe just isn’t seated correctly.

Hi and welcome 🤗

As you have done the obvious then there is a ring seal inside the brass fitting it is by likely that is damaged or just hardened with age.

I would suggest you change the brass fitting.

if you have tried the suggestion above, just pop to a dealer and buy a new fitting, wont be expensive

As a temporary measure you might try smearing silicone grease around the red pipe and re-inserting it into the fitting, this is just incase the seal is getting twisted through friction. Only use silicone grease, vaseline or other petroleum lubricants can damage seals. You could also chamfer the end of the red pipe slightly if it has a sharp edge which also might help.

It doesn't appear that the red plastic pipe is straight into the fitting putting the joint under pressure.
