I need to re seal around the shower tray and it would be much easier if I could remove the tambour door. I don’t see an easy way to do it other than remove the roof rail. I’m a little hesitant though in case it’s a nightmare to re fit.

Has anyone done this and if so how did you do it and how easy was it?

Thanks.

We had ours off to clean and lubricate it (see historic posts). With ours you just unscrew the 1/3 section of the top rail and then just open the door, letting it slide out of the 2/3 section still screwed onto the ceiling. Easiest with 2 px to refit it, and I wouldn't let the slats get unlinked so maybe get a bit of a strap around them as you feed them off the top rail.

I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no easy way to remove the tabour door on a Twin. I’ve unscrewed the top rail but that didn’t help. I think the only way they could have built it was to install the door then install the washroom wall after.

I’ve re sealed the shower tray as best as I could and hope I never need to remove / repair the door.
