Abbeywell AHC - when did the final confirmation text arrive? (1 Viewer)

We are all set to pick up our AHC from Abbeywell this Saturday. Their confirmation details said that we will be sent a text when the AHC has been produced, 1-7 days before.

For others that have used Abbeywell, how long before pick up is this text usually sent?

We are travelling down on Friday and straight on tunnel on Saturday lunch, so I would hate for there to be a problem.

Do we need to contact them if we don’t get the text? Or just show up on Saturday as planned.

4 days before collecting the AHC, no texting so we had to call them to make sure there was no problem. Very efficient the day we collected the certificate.

Thanks, did you call on the main vets number, and were they helpful? I think we will call on Thursday whilst still at home.

I have messaged a lady on a AHC FB site, and she never got a text, picked AHC up today. A little worrying when they say that they will send one!

we called the number on their website, can't remember what it is but they were very pleasant and helpful. Didn't take more than 15mn to go through the certificate on the day and we will certainly use them again in the future.

we didn't send any texts but they replied to the emails without too much delays. Phoning was easier when we needed to contact them.

Sort out your crossing as Abbeywell will need that date to prepare your AHC as it is only valid for 10 days when leaving the UK. No appointment necessary,all filled in on line,just pick up the form before you cross

They need to check the microchip but no need for a physical examination. So they do need to see the dog, if only briefly.

Yes you have to take the dog in to check the chip numbers match when you pick up the AHC.

Although it's an animal health certificate they don't actually check the health just the chip

Principally it attests that the dog has an up to date rabies vaccine, and that is done via a paper trail. That's the health bit.

Red blob is the vets,there is parking outside but could be a bit of a gamble! you can park on the sea front,The Leas, but you have to pay by phone! we managed to park on Castle Hill Ave second time round, 8.3m

There is a car park at the back but it is quite tight exiting in a motorhome if anyone parks on the road outside up to the gates.

If anyone is a geocacher there is a nice easy AdventureLab in the remembrance garden next to the car park.

Thank you. My first instinct was they were sailing a bit close to the wind but having checked the AHC we got for our dog earlier this year it is indeed just confirmation of vaccine status and the dog does not need to be physically examined.
