Looks like all FUNsters aren't bothered about a discount.

It's a really good meet, it's better to have an extra 20% in your pocket to buy all the unusual foods on offer.

It's not so much that we aren't bothered about the discount - we would be very happy to spend that £16 with the food stalls instead of on the site cost - it's just that we don't know if we will be able to be there or not at the moment. If we do come, it'll cost an extra £16, but that's better than losing the £65 it would cost (or £100 with EHU presumably) if we booked it & then couldn't make it.

We hope to be there, but I put it at about a 50% possibility at the moment.

Have booked online I think? The form filling completed to be told that the name I put in was not the account holders name..... well I am certain that I am me.

So I phoned up and it was an answer machine .. I left a message saying I had been on the computer for half an hour and hopefully booked and required the discount and would they phone me to confirm when they return to their office. . . hopefully after Christmas as they may be tooooo pished after a work's lunch to understand me.

In case any of you have had enough of food, and need a bracing half day out in the local countryside whilst taking in a fine example of our rural heritage, I have just the place for you.

A mere 12 miles down the road is Stretton Watermill, which I'm reliably informed is staffed by the most welcoming and talented team of working museum visitor guides in all of Christendom, enough said. The outside is free, and the award-winning guided tours of the inside are a snip at only £3 a head.

If you prefer Roman stuff and don't feel up to driving away from the race course, just drag your overfed carcass a couple of hundred yards up the Grosvenor Road to the Grosvenor Museum, which is also well worth a look. Entry is free, so you don't need to pay a mint to some bloke dressed up as Legionary to find out about Chester's history.

We have just booked, this is our 2nd rally, the last one was chester last year. We were with the outcasts requiring leccy.
This year I can try out the solar panels eddievanbiz is fitting this month! Hopefully we will be in amongst it. We will have our Bernese Mountain dog, Brewster, with us also.
