Ok heres one for all the techies, which I am definately not.
Fitting 2 new 110Ah batts tomorrow and a Ctek charger. Next to my battery box is a 600watt invertor whic I use regularly and it works really well. My question is can I run the invertor to generate 240volt then use that to charge the same batteries that are driving the invertor. This would save starting the genny or finding a mains hook up and would be a perfect solution no noise no fuel. I guess the answers are either;
The invertor would overheat
The charging process through the invertor will take out more power than it puts in
Or something else a layman like me has'nt thought of.
I need to ask because it keeps going around in my head and in my simplistic way of looking at things it should work, but I bet it won't.:thumb::thumb:
